Hyènes à l'affut

Suricate du désert

Watercolor on paper of desert meerkat sometimes called desert sentinel. It is a small diurnal insectivorous  mammal, it lives in family group. Outside the group, it is doomed to death. His body measures 10 to 12 inches, and his tale 8 to 10 inches, serves him as a fifth member. During the night, it stays in his burrow, which it digs quickly thanks to its tranparent eyelids. It is found in southwestern Africa. The sentinel takes shifts and shout to warn others of a danger. It lives on average 12 years.

Aquarelle sur papier de suricate du desert parfois appelé sentinel du désert. C'est un petit mammifère insectivore diurne, il vit en groupe familiale. En dehors du groupe il est voué à une mort certaine. Son corps mesure de 25 à 29 cm, sa queue de 19 à 24 cm, lui sert de 5ème membre. Pendant la nuit, il reste dans son terrier, qu'il creuse rapidement grace à ses paupières transparentes. On le trouve dans le sud-ouest de l'Afrique. La sentinel prend des quarts et crie pour prévenir les autres d'un danger. Il vit en moyenne 12 ans.

All'esterno del gruppo è condennoto a morte certa. Il suo corpo misura di 25 a 29 cm, la sua coda di 19 a 24 cm, gli serve come quinto membro. Durante la notte rimane nella sua tana, che scava rapidamente grazie alle sue palpebre trasparenti. Si trova nel sud-ovest del Africa. La sentinel prende quarti e grida per prevenire gli altri da un pericolo. Vive in media 12 anni.

                                     

Rhinocéros d'Afrique

Despite its large size it is an agile and fast animal, it can run up to 31 miles / hour over a short distance. Its borrows in a form of 3 leaf clovers, making it it easily recognizable. The rhino is a protected animal, it is close to extinction in some parts of Africa and Asia.

Malgré sa grande taille, c'est un animal agile et rapide, il peut courir jusqu'à 50 km/h sur une courte distance. Son emprunte en forme de trèfles à 3 feuilles, le rend facilement reconnaissable. Le rhinocéros est un animal protégé, il est près de l'extinction dans certaines parties d'Afrique et d'Asie.

Il rinoceronte è un animale protetto, è vicino all'estinzione in alcune parti dell'Africa e dell'Asia.

Hippopotames amphibies

The hippopotamus spends most of its time in the water, in order to protect itself from the sun. Once, in immersion, its nostrils and ears close by contraction to prevent the entry of water into his lungs.
The male hippopotamus can reach 9,84 feet in length and weight up to 4 tons for the largest. Its barrel-shape body has a large head with a mouth that can open widely up to 180°, in which there are tusks more than 24 inches long.
It is one of the most dangerous animals of Africa, causing 300 humans death each year.

L'hippopotame passe la plus grande partie de son temps dans l'eau, afin de se protéger du soleil. Une fois, en immersion ses narines et ses oreilles se ferment par contraction pour éviter l'entrée de l'eau dans ses poumons.
L'hippopotame mâle peut atteindre 3 mètres de long et peser jusqu'à 4 tonnes pour les plus gros. Son corps en forme de tonneau comporte une large tête avec une gueule pouvant s'ouvrir largement jusqu'à 180°, dans laquelle se trouve des défenses de plus de 60 cm de long.
Il s'agit d'un des animaux les plus dangereux d'Afrique, causant 300 morts humains par an.

L'ippopotamo trascorre la maggior parte del suo tempo in acqua, per proteggersi dal sole. Una volta, in immersione, le sue narici e le sue orecchie si chiudono per contrazione per impedire l'ingresso di acqua nei suoi polmoni.

L'ippopotamo maschio può raggiungere i 3 metri di lunghezza e pesare fino a 4 tonnellate per il più grande. Il suo corpo a forma di botte ha una grande testa con una bocca che può aprirsi ampiamente fino a 180°, in cui sono presenti zanne lunghe più di 60 cm.

È uno degli animali più pericolosi in Africa, causando 300 morti umane all'anno.

Autruches d'Afrique

L'ostrich is the largest of all birds, with 8,2 feet of high and 287 pound. It is part of  large birds family, while it is flightless, on the other hand it can reach 43 miles / hour in the race.

L'autruche est le plus grand de tous les oiseaux, avec 2,50 m de haut pour 130 kg. Elle fait partie de la grande famille des oiseaux alors qu'elle est inapte au vol, par contre elle peut atteindre 70 km/ heure à la course.
